Welcome to Spielbany

So you designed a board/card/dice/euro/ameritrash/designer game, now what? Get that prototype together and come playtest it at Spielbany. Spielbany is a gathering of game designers from the northeast for playtesting, discussion, and camaraderie. Spielbany has been meeting quarterly since 2004, and is typically held in the Albany, NY area. This location makes us central and easy to access from New York City, Boston, Tuscon, Montevideo, Rochester, Montreal and other points in the northeast.

Spring Spielbany 2012 recap

Spring Spielbany 2012 was a solid success. With around 11 designers and 17 attendees total, there was plenty of action throughout the day's 14 hour (!) duration. It was a pleasure to welcome four first-time attendees. This session had a special emphasis on long games, and six long (3 hrs+) games hit the tables.

The following games were played (an "L" denotes one of the long games).

Winter 2012 Wrap-Up

Winter Spielbany was a great success! We had about 25 attendees on Saturday and 16 on Sunday. We welcomed about 8 new playtesters to the mix, which enabled us to get through about 30 games on the first day and another 15 on the second day. At present, we consistently have a good sized contingent coming from Rochester for Spielbany. We have toyed with the idea of moving one of our quarterly events out to Rochester or perhaps just adding a separate event entirely. Here is your chance to sound off.
